WHAT a joke the council is. I have worked for the council for nearly 20 years, and in that time I have seen how money is wasted (£22.4million cuts puts jobs at risk, say Labour, Gazette, July 7).

How can Ray Puddifoot justify spending hundreds of pounds on a 42in TV, saying it is to keep up with current affairs?

There are three or four TVs in the waiting area of the Civic Centre, on News 24 all day, which he could look at.

Or he could have bought a radio, out of his own pocket: after all, he earns enough.

What else is Ray Puddifoot spending tax payers' money on?

I also agree about the mosaic outside the Civic Centre. I am sure this could have been done in schools, as a project for the children. In that way, it would not have cost anything.

He goes on about the new leisure facilities. Has he taken a walk in Yiewsley lately?

Yiewsley swimming pool was the only leisure facility we had left, so what happens? It's being closed.

So you see, Ray Puddifoot, Hillingdon is not 'flying'.
