THE College of North West London will be forced to close its Kilburn campus due to cuts.

The struggling college's main government grants for 2010-11 will be slashed by more than 11 per cent.

This follows two years of funding cuts which has resulted in the closure of courses which do not meet central government priorities.

The college will have to reduce spending from August by about £3.2million. Principal Vicki Fagg said: "The college is having to make some tough decisions about how to manage our share of the public spending cuts. Very reluctantly, we are suspending operations at our Kilburn Centre from September 2010 as an essential cost-saving exercise."

It is believed jobs will go and lecturers' contracts will be changed to try and save money.

Student places will be offered at Willesden and Wembley Park.
