Hounslow mayor Corinna Smart has urged people to help feed families in need this Christmas by donating to Hounslow Community FoodBox.

Collection points have been set up in Isleworth and Brentford for people to drop off non-perishable food to ensure no one goes hungry over the festive period.

They are at Isleworth Leisure Centre, in Twickenham Road; Martins Newsagents, in Brentford High Street; and the South Street Café, in Shrewsbury Walk, Isleworth.

Ms Smart said: "This local charity provides a valuable service for people in the community who cannot afford to feed themselves or their family.

"I know many people are struggling themselves at this time of year. However, if you can help feed a family in need this Christmas, then please make a donation."

getwestlondon reported earlier this month how there had been a 'marked rise' in demand for food banks across west London.
