During a discussion about Boris Johnson possibly taking MP Sir John Randall's Uxbridge and South Ruislip seat in the 2015 election this morning , Radio 2 DJ Chris Evans said no one knew where Uxbridge was.

To help anyone in the 'where the heck is Uxbridge ?' camp, we (with the help of Scott Balcony ) compiled a list of facts about the area.

.

But our readers have been contacting us all day filling us in on lots more important details we omitted from our Top 10 list.

John Power from Uxbridge was first to get in touch, to tell us that Stanley Kubrik's 1971 cult classic, A Clockwork Orange, was partly filmed at Brunel University in Cleveland Road.

Mr Power also said he spotted Usain Bolt at a park in West Drayton while he was training for the 2012 London Olympics.

And Michael Cutajar, also from Uxbridge, reminded us that the original models for Doctor Who's greatest foe - the Daleks - were made in Uxbridge.

Mr Cutajar also felt the Crown and Treaty pub in Oxford Road was worth its own bullet point - but not for its infamous snakebites, a drink made of cider and beer. Charles I held negotiations with his political opponents during the English Civil War in the Grade II listed building, and parts of the pub date back to 1576.

Parts of the pub's wood panelling was reportedly sold in 1924 to decorate an office in the Empire State Building in the US, but was reinstalled in 1953 as a coronation gift to to Elizabeth II.

Sir John himself got in touch, to not only remind us that the first Durex condom advert was filmed in Uxbridge station, but also to tell us that Uxbridge is an anagram of 'big Durex ' (thank you John).

He also said he would be more than happy to give BoJo a no holds barred guided tour.

Lots of you posted your favourite things about the area on Twitter and Facebook.

Sir John's seat is regarded as being close enough to London if Mr Johnson wanted to continue as Mayor of London, and reasonably close to his home.
