I would like to record my thanks to the Observer for its support to the Pinner WEA (Workers' Educational Association) when two of our courses for adults were in danger of extinction earlier in the term.

Both these courses are now saved and will run their full quota of 20 classes each, ending in March of next year.

May I just remind readers that the WEA is Britain's major voluntary adult education organisation, and it exists to provide high quality learning opportunities for adults from all walks of life.

You don't usually need any previous knowledge or qualifications to join our courses, only a willingness to share with others your curiosity, ideas and experience.

Like all local branches of the WEA, Pinner Branch is run by volunteers and it is here to try to meet the needs of the local community.

Readers should feel free to contact us if they would like to have more information about the courses that we run or if they have suggestions they would like to make for future classes.

Brochures are available in all the Harrow libraries or you may phone me on 020 8868 3118.
