This weekend sees the return of the annual Lighting up the Manor event, kick starting the Christmas shopping season in Ruislip Manor.

The Winter Fun Day begins on Saturday, November 8 in Victoria Road at 11am and gives traders the chance to promote their local shops and businesses with discounts and special offers.

Families can enjoy festive fun with a fun fair, amusements, rides and racing car simulators.

Vintage police cars will be on display and trade and charity stalls will line the high street, with cafe's spilling out of their doors to offer shoppers various warming treats.

The event, organised by the Ruislip Manor Chamber of Commerce, culminates in the turning on of the high street's Christmas lights.

This year the festive lights will be officially switched on at 4.30pm by the Mayor of Hillingdon, councillor Catherine Dann.

Then on Thursday, November 13, join the Mayor again alongside traders, councillors and the community at the switching on of the Christmas lights in Eastcote.

Councillor Catherine Dann will turn the lights on in an area near to The Ascott pub in Field End Road at 4pm.

Choirs will be singing carols to help get people in the festive mood.
