A BUILDER has raised over a thousand pounds for life saving medical equipment.

Warren Fox, 41, of Stavely Gardens in Chiswick swam one mile in under an hour raising £1,200 on March 10.

The former Chiswick Community school pupil said: "I am a member of the Freemasons and as a group we decide to get together to raise £3 million for a CyberKnife for St Bartholomew’s Hospital in London.

"It is not actually a knife at all but a state-of-the-art piece of equipment that allows doctors to treat tumours and other medical conditions without the need for an operation.

"I think most people will know someone that has been affected by cancer and this is why I wanted to help."

The father-of-one moved to Chiswick from Heston aged nine and is a member of the Pillar Sports Club in Riverside Drive.
