CHILD pornography charges have been dropped against a Wembley man.

Michael Nightingale, 51, of Brent Way, had vigorously denied 14 counts of possession at his home on June 23, 2011 of indecent photographs or pseudo-photographs of children.

The Crown Prosecution Service offered no evidence at Harrow Crown Court on Wednesday last week and the case was dismissed, leaving Mr Nightingale free to go with his reputation intact.

In an earlier hearing, Mr Nightingale’s defence team said the 51-year-old had bought a second-hand computer that unbeknown to him already had the images, or traces of them, on.

In nine cases, the alleged images were classed as level four, the second highest of the Sentencing Advisory Panel’s five-tiered scale of severity of child pornography.
