A FIVE-year-old girl was airlifted to hospital after being knocked over by a car.

The child was involved in a collision with a blue Renault MPV in Cleave Avenue, Hayes, just before 6.30pm yesterday (Wednesday).

A spokesperson for the London Ambulance Service said: "We were called to reports of a road traffic accident between a car and a pedestrian.

"We sent two single responders in cars, one ambulance crew and an air ambulance.

"Our staff treated a girl, reported to be five years old, and he was taken by air to Royal London Hospital with injuries to her head, chest and foot."

The driver stopped, and police made no arrests.
