From dancers and singers to comedians and martial artists, gifted groups and individuals are being invited to apply for this year's Hillingdon's Hidden Talent competition.

The annual competition will take place at the Compass Theatre, in Glebe Avenue, Ickenham, on February 15, hosted by Hillingdon Council.

It is free to enter and has been divided into separate categories for groups, individuals aged under 18, and individuals aged 18 and over. There will also be a prize for the most unusual talent.

Councillor Douglas Mills, cabinet member for community, commerce and regeneration, said: "We have a lot of talented residents and the calibre of entries for this event has gone from strength to strength over the past few years. It has become a popular competition and I am sure the judges will have a tough time deciding on a winner again this year."

More than 50 applications were received for 2014's competition, with dancers, gymnasts, singers and even a Taekwondo rapper among those who performed to a packed theatre.

The winner, singer-songwriter Sara Williams, received a professionally produced music video.

The deadline for applications this year is January 30. Forms can be downloaded at www.hillingdon.gov.uk/talent.

Audience tickets cost £3.50 and are available at www.compasstheatre.co.uk, or by calling 01895 673200.
