AN EXCITING new online initiative aims to inspire members of the public to come up with ideas to help the environment.
As an area that values creativity and innovation, we believe the project will really resonate with Londoners.
Open Planet Ideas challenges creative thinkers from across the world to collaborate in finding new ways to use today's technology to help preserve our planet's natural resources. Working with WWF, this 'open innovation' online platform has been created by Sony to inspire people to get involved and make a difference.
The winning idea - as selected by the online community and an expert panel - will be developed by Sony engineers into a viable 'proof of concept' - a way of demonstrating how that idea could be put into commercial production.
To participate, you don't have to be a scientist or engineer. Any idea, large or small could help make a difference. People can submit a new idea or build on the ideas posted by others. There is also the opportunity to add comments or 'applaud' if you want to show your appreciation for a concept.
This month, throughout the evaluation phase of the project, people will get the chance to vote on which ideas they think are the best.
