I read with interest the letter about Brunel student parking [Student cars still a big pain, Letters, February 11].

Students are now parking both sides of Iver Lane, making the road very narrow and an accident waiting to happen. These cars are also left there for days at a time.

Brunel has never been a good neighbour.I would like to know why planning permission was given for the huge residential blocks which have just been completed, and what provision has been made for parking spaces - and has this been complied with.

Brunel should be made to supply enough parking spaces for all the cars, and should abolish the practice of charging students to park.

I was alarmed to read the news that Swan Bridge in Cowley Mill Road will be closed for five months [Bridge work chaos,Uxbridge Gazette,February 11].

This will mean a huge increase in Iver Lane and Iver village.

The canal bridge in Iver Lane does have a weight limit on it but this is ignored by very large lorries every day.

What steps are going to be taken to enforce this weight limit while Swan Bridge is closed?

I have complained to the police but I have been informed it is a matter for the local authority.
