THE £8million transformation of Feltham Airparcs will be completed by the end of the month.

To be known as Hanworth Air Park Leisure Centre, the Uxbridge Road facility should be open to the public by July 31.

It is one of three Hounslow leisure hubs to undergo a facelift and will offer library and leisure services on one site.

Work includes a new main entrance, a 110-station gym, two new exercise studios, a cafe area, refurbished changing facilities, a relocated creche with outside space and improved dry changing areas.

Builders moved on to the site in September last year to begin phase one of the project. Phase two, which includes a new changing village, is expected to be completed this September.

Councillor Rebecca Stewart, lead member for leisure at Hounslow Council, said: "It's going to be an exciting year for leisure services in the borough.

"As well as this new leisure hub here in Feltham, the refurbishment of Brentford Fountain will soon be finished, and the hub in Isleworth will be completed in the summer."

Centre manager Brett Jenkins said: "It's looking really great.

"The facilities are on par with the kind you would find in a private gym. It's fantastic."
