A song and dance was made on the weekend over the unveiling of the £3million transformation of Southall’s relocated library and Dominion Centre.

Ealing Council’s leader, Councillor Julian Bell and the Mayor, Councillor Tej Ram Bagha launched the community centre and library, at The Green, Southall by unveiling a commemorative plaque on Friday, November 7.

On Saturday families were entertained by dance, martial arts, storytelling, and arts and crafts to celebrate the centre’s face lift.

Residents were given a full tour of the newly refurbished centre, which now boasts a new extension, café and learning room, the newly relocated Southall Library and a community centre where local groups can meet and host events and activities.

Councillor Julian Bell said: “The Dominion Centre’s transformation is a triumph. The activities and services on offer here also make the Dominion Centre more relevant and more accessible for a wider group of people in the community too, which is really fantastic.”

The newly located Southall Library, which moved into the centre in spring 2014 has new self-service points, free Wi-Fi access and a large selection of books, e-books and DVDs.
