A MAN in his 60s was bundled into his own car then left stranded in Harlesden.

The victim was taken against his will by two black men wearing hooded jumpers from Boxmoor, in Hemel Hempstead, at about 8.50pm last Friday.

Cash was taken from him before he was let out of the car in Woodheyes

Road, Harlesden, but he was not injured. His car, a red Citroën Xsara, has since been recovered.

Detective Sergeant Laurie Rush said: "Incidents of this kind are extremely rare in Hemel Hempstead and we are therefore treating this incident very seriously.

"We believe the overriding motive was not to cause the man harm, but to use his car to get home.

"We are appealing for anyone who witnessed two men acting suspiciously in the Boxmoor area at any time prior to the offence."

Anyone with information should ring DS Rush on 0845 33 00 22 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
