MORE than 300 people joined a colourful parade through Hounslow West as part of the TW4 Community Carnival on Saturday.
Families wearing rainbow-themed costumes marched from The Hub community centre in Salisbury Road to Beaversfield Park at noon. There they were joined by another 300 revellers for an afternoon of sport, live music and arts and craft.
Lorna Hardy, of family service Sure Start Hounslow, which helps run the event, said: "Our theme this year was diversity and it was lovely to see so many people from different sections of the community enjoying themselves together."
She added the potter's wheel, where children could make and paint their own mugs, and the smoothie bike, on which youngsters used pedal power to create refreshing drinks, were the most popular activities.
She also thanked soldiers from Hounslow Barracks, who provided a truck to lead the parade and ran an assault course. ..SUPL:
