A car fire on the A312 in Cranford is causing heavy tailbacks.
The car burst into flames about an hour ago near the junction with the M4, at approximately 1.30pm, and firefighters were soon at the scene.
The road was closed between the junction with the M4 and Cranford High Street and there are still long queues.
A Transport for London spokesman said the road was closed southbound and would remain so until resurfacing work had been completed.
Jamie McCann, of Trojan Pest Control, took this photo shortly after the fire broke out.
"I wwas on my way to a job and I could smell the smoke about a mile away," he said.
