The area has the best mobile phone signal in West London according to a wireless network measurement app.

OpenSignal, which collects worldwide mobile network strength figures, ranks the mobile phone reception in Harrow as more than one and a half times the strength of the national average.

Based on an analysis of 2G, 3G and 4G reception as sent in by its users the app ranks phone signal in the area as being 52 per cent higher than the average for the UK. This means the signal is better in Harrow than in any other part of West London and is also well ahead of London as a whole where signal across the entire city is only 35 per cent of the UK average.

The top signal providers in Harrow are 3, EE - encompassing T-Mobile and Orange - and Vodafone.

Across West London, every area had above average phone signal with reception being worst in Kensington where mobile was 22 per cent better than the average for the UK.

Westminster was only marginally better with 27 percent above the average which rises to 32 percent in Hammersmith, 33 per cent in Brent and 46 per cent in Ealing.

Coming just below Harrow for the best coverage in the west is Hounslow with 48 per cent.

Phone signal in the UK is 17 per cent better than the world average with 3 being the best network according to OpenSignal. Vodafone come in second and EE come third.
