Army cadets from Harrow and Brent were among the 450 uniformed youngsters who weathered a comprehensive annual training camp in Yorkshire.
The activities they experienced include mountain biking, orienteering, clay target shooting, kayaking and first aid training at Wathgill near Catterick in a mixture of bright sunshine and heavy downpours.
Teenagers who practised their field skills, including military maneouvres, weapons handling and camping, came from 201 Harrow (Royal Army Medical Corps), of the Cadet Centre in Elmgrove Road, Harrow; 205 Wembley (Parachute Regt), of the Cadet Centre in Harrow Road, Wembley, and 208 Willesden (Royal Regt of Fusiliers), of the Cadet Centre, Pound Lane, Willesden.
They were joined by cadets from 209 Cardinal Hinsley High School Detachment (Grenadier Guards), based at the school in Harlesden Road, Harlesden, and 215 Kingsbury (Royal Engineers), of the TA Centre, Honeypot Lane, Kingsbury.
Cadet Sergeant Jesse Babri, 18, of Allington Road, North Harrow, attended the Senior Cadet Instructors Course (SCIC), having been in the 201 Harrow detachment for four years.
She said: "What I’ve enjoyed most is meeting new people and the whole experience of progressing through the Army Cadet Force."
Colonel Ian Denison, Commandant of the London Sector, said "Four hundred and fifty teenage Army Cadets from North West London have enjoyed a real opportunity to develop and hone their skills in the Yorkshire countryside.
"It’s been a really excellent annual camp, the culmination of a lot of hard work throughout the year and just before camp."
