FIRST time buyers interested in living in one of Brentford’s newest developments had a chance to get expert help on purchasing their new home at the weekend.

At an event, on Saturday and Sunday (April 13 to 14), prospective owners visited the recently launched sales and marketing suite at Brentford Lock West, Commerce Road. This is where ISIS, the regeneration arm of the Canal and Rivers Trust, is building the first phase of the development - 150 flats in blocks of one, two and three bedrooms.

In addition to offering Government schemes, such as NewBuy on a number of the newly released apartments, the developer, ISIS Waterside Regeneration can offer buyers access to its own shared equity scheme – Loan 2 Own.

Through the scheme, ISIS will loan buyers up to 20% of the value of the property, interest free for up to 10 years – allowing buyers to purchase with as little as a 5% deposit, while also helping them to bring their monthly repayments down.

Katie Sully, Development Director at ISIS Waterside Regeneration, said: "Since launching this March we have had a significant amount of interest from first time buyers, keen to make Brentford Lock West their first home. The feedback we have had to date has been hugely positive, but there is no getting away from the fact that access to finance is still a
barrier for many of today’s buyers.

"Through the range of schemes we have available here, we have already been able to assist a number of buyers to make their first purchase. We hope that during the first time buyer weekend that many of those looking to get onto the property ladder in the area will come along and take the opportunity to explore how we could help them to become a home owner too."

The first of the homes to be released off plan at Brentford Lock West include a mix of contemporary one, two and three bedroom apartments, with prices starting from £284,950. The first of the homes are expected to be ready to move into by the end of this year. The Sales and Marketing Suite is open daily, 10am – 5pm. Off plan reservations are now being taken.
