A MAN in his thirties was allegedly stabbed on a bus near Haven Green and taken to hospital by air ambulance.
Stunned witnesses watched as the man was carried on a stretcher to the helicopter which landed at Haven Green on Saturday.
Hayden Sutherland, who was out walking with his newborn daughter said: "I saw as someone was stretchered off from a bus and there were four police cars, two ambulances and a fast response car too.
"But everything seemed pretty calm despite sunbathers being disturbed as the helicopter landed in the open green space."
A spokeswoman from the London Ambulance Service said: "We were called at 2:45pm on Saturday following reports of a stabbing.
"We sent an air ambulance and ambulance to the scene and a male reported to be in his thirties was taken to hospital.
"His condition is not thought to be life-threatening."
