A PUB will be pulling in the punters with something a little more tantalising than your average pint.

A burlesque evening, featuring 16 different performers, is being staged for the second time at the King’s Head in Acton.

The event is organised by Christina Dettmers, a period costume designer who runs the Tasseled Empress from her home in Ealing.

Christina, who will also take part in the show, has completed postgraduate studies in costume design and theatrical millinery and hosts lectures and workshops on historical clothing, and is inspired by past eras such as 18th-century France and the pre-Raphaelites.

She said: “I know it’s unusual to have burlesque in a pub but it’s such a beautiful venue and everyone really enjoyed it the last time.”
