THESE two men are said to have tried to force their way into an elderly woman’s home while she was inside.

The would-be burglary suspects were caught on CCTV trying to get into the home in Almond Avenue, South Ealing, and police released the images this week in an effort to catch the pair.

The pensioner was at home at around 2.15pm on Wednesday, January 4, when she heard a knock at the front door. She looked out and saw a man looking through the ground-floor front room window. About 10 minutes later, a second man jumped over the back fence holding what looked like a hammer in his left hand.

The pair then allegedly tried to force open the back door before they were interrupted and ran off.

One man was black, aged between 17 and 23 and about 5ft 10in tall. He wore dark grey tracksuit bottoms, black trainers, a dark top and a green cap with a black visor, with shoulder length cane rows or braids in his hair and stubble on his chin.

The other man was white, aged about 17, and 5ft 9in tall. He wore black trainers, blue denim jeans, a black and navy blue American-style jock jacket with a three symbol on the left side, a blue and white check shirt and black and white goalkeeper gloves.

PC Donna Coker said “We are very keen to speak to the men in the CCTV images as we know they were in the area at the time of the incident and ask for anyone who knows who or where they are to contact us.”
