FUNDRAISER Rachel Knightley has appealed for more writers to come forward to join her sponsored write to raise money for cancer research.

Rachel, who runs Point 303 Theatre Company and held a series of fund-raising events for Macmillan after a friend died, aged 25, is organising a Writers' Cafe on November 30 from 10am-4.30pm.

Formerly in three coffee shops in Ealing Broadway, she's organised her third fund-raiser in Ealing, Bath, Stratford-upon-Avon and Brighton.

National Theatre playwright James Graham will join her at Starbucks, Ealing Green, while poet Carrie Etter will be writing in a Bath bookshop and author/blogger/campaigner Lucy-Anne Holmes and Professor Michael Dobson will be writing from their homes in Brighton and Stratford-upon-Avon respectively.

Rachel from Ealing, said:"It works just as a sponsored run, swim or whatever else would, but by the hour instead of the mile. Lots of people are doing sporty things for Macmillan so this appeals to a different personality type."

"I fundraise for Macmillan Cancer Support in memory of my friend Sophie, whose chosen charity it was when died in 2007. It would be great if more writers could come forward to join us. I just want to beat my coffee morning target of £412.58."
