A man has denied raping a pensioner in her 80s as he burgled her house in August.

Robert Lashley, of Blythe Road, Brook Green , appeared at Isleworth Crown Court on Tuesday (November 18) for a hearing where he denied one count of rape and one of burglary.

The 32-year-old’s denial comes after a woman in her 80s was allegedly attacked and robbed at around 8am on August 16 at her house in west London.

He is next due in court at Isleworth for a case management hearing on January 5, 2015 and a trial date has been set for March 23, 2015.
