Heartfelt tributes have been paid to a barman from Hanworth who died last week after falling from a bridge at Heathrow Airport.

Michael Joseph, 21, of Butts Farm Estate, Hanworth, worked at the ThreeMagpies pub, close to the scene of his fall at East Ramp, off the A4Bath Road.

In a joint statement released today, his colleagues said: "Michael wasa valued and popular member of the team who will be missed by everyoneconnected with the Three Magpies.

"Our thoughts go out to all of his friends and family at this very sad time."

Mr Joseph was seen by two witnesses walking along the railings of thebridge above the tunnels which lead to the Terminal buildings at10.42pm on Saturday, June 28. He then fell around 50ft onto a black cab driving below, which somehow finished up on top of him.

Firefighters used air bags to lift the cab and get him to Charing Crosshospital where he remained in a critical condition with massive headinjuries until doctors turned off his life support system on Wednesdaylast week.

Det Sgt McLoughlin, of Alperton Traffic Garage, said his team werekeeping an open mind about the incident. He added: "We would very muchlike anyone who saw him at or around that time to come forward and giveus their details."

An inquest has now been opened at West London Coroners Court.
