ADVENTUROUS little ones raised more than £400 for charity with a sponsored climb around an assault course.
The youngsters were due to toddle across St Paul’s Recreation Ground in Brentford last Thursday, but the weather intervened and instead they completed the course, which included crawling through tunnels and coming down a slide, to help Brentford Toy Library buy new toys.
The budding athletes all received a medal and certificate before enjoying a community picnic in a rare spot of sunshine.
The toy library is a much-loved play and toy-borrowing scheme for pre-school children which has been run by volunteers for more than 15 years.
General manager Sally Malit said: “The future of the Brentford Toy Library is still unsure and we desperately need to raise funds and awareness. Any support is much appreciated.”
Jessica Siavoshy, project development manager, said: “The sponsored toddle went very well. This is fantastic and we look forward to purchasing a new toy kitchen for the children to play with.”
Further donations can be made at www.brentfordtoylibrary.org.uk . The group is always looking for volunteers, especially on Thursday mornings.
