A BRENTFORD hunk has made the final cut of a nationwide search for Britain's next 'new face'.

Jonathan Cain, 25, from Clayponds Lane in Brentford, is one of the final 10 in the Gatwick Runway Models competition in partnership with international agency Storm Models.

Beating off competition from over 1,100 entries, Jonathan entered the competition via special photo-booths, which were located in the terminals of Gatwick Airport for six weeks.

The ex- Isleworth and Syon pupil said: "It was a real surprise as my mum entered me, I knew nothing about it. If I won I would definitely give it my all. I have never thought of myself as a model but I'm interested in any job that isn't just your average nine to five."

Jonathan who is currently in a band, was the Consumer Winner, receiving over 1,000 votes from the public, with his popularity automatically winning him a place at model bootcamp as well as £500 Gatwick Airport shopping vouchers.

Catwalk icon Jade Parfitt gave the finalists a crash course in model training this week at Gatwick.

Jonathan said: "Model bootcamp was fantastic – Jade was so inspiring and gave us lots of tricks of the trade. The modelling industry is known for its fierce competition and the insight Gatwick Runway Models has already given me is invaluable. This really could change my life."

If Sarah Doukas, founder of Storm Model Management and her team of scouting experts select Jonathan as their male winner, he will receive a contract with the modelling agency as well as an opportunity to model at Gatwick Fashion Week in August.
