The music line-up for the popular Brentford Festival has been announced and getwestlondon can exclusively reveal chosen singers.

A mix of eight solo performers and bands will bring different music to the stage from country, Celtic and blues to rock, rap and hip-hop.

Among the selected is 20-year-old rapper, songwriter and producer, Kyroe, of Hanwell, who is studying music technology at West Thames College and is due to attend University of Hertfordshire from September.

And from Hounslow, an upcoming singer songwriter and guitarist, also runner up of Hounslow Has Talent this year, Nessles, will be taking her strings on stage for her acoustic folk style melodies.

She was also scouted by BBC's The Voice in series 4 and by new Channel 4 show Singer Takes It All.

Hailing from Western Australia, soloist Caddy Cooper, who is currently living in Richmond, is an acoustic country, blues, folk singer who uses lyrics to tell tales of life, love and loss.

Others include rock group The Far Meadow (TFM), band Mad Stick Dog who started off as a duo and are now a five-piece foot tapping group singing Celtic tunes, and The Secret, a band based in Twickenham who have been gigging since the 1980s covering soul, rock and country.

Also taking to the stage will be Skinner, a six-piece pop, blues and soul band from Acton, Northfields and Ealing, and completing the line-up are folk rock band Spriggan Mist.

All acts were selected by the events new musical director, musician Elaine Samuels, and they will perform in front of huge crowds on September 7.

This will be the second year the festival will be held at Blondin Park in the neighbouring borough of Ealing after a fall out over finances with Hounslow council's park contractor.

Keep with the latest progress on the festival with organiser Linda Massey through her event diary.

It will still be called Brentford Festival and organisers remain hopeful it will one day return to the town where it was originally held and is named after.
