A DISABLED football club is celebrating after being named as the Mayor's chosen charity for 2012/13.
Feltham Bees, Brentford Football Club's official disability side for everyone aged five to 50, was chosen by new Hounslow mayor Pritam Grewal on Tuesday (May 15).
The group will now benefit from Mr Grewal's patronage, support and fund-raising.
Speaking at the meeting group leader Ray Coleman said: "Obviously we are thrilled with this and want to continue our good work in the area."
The club works with disabilities including cerebral palsy, Down's syndrome, autism, Asperger's and other learning difficulties.
Mr Grewal said: "I am a keen sportsman so I wanted to work with The Feltham Bees as I have always thought disabled people are under represented in sports.”
The group trains every Saturday morning at Feltham Community College in Browells Lane.
