Brentford FC striker Montell Moore has been charged with handling stolen goods, among other offences.

The former academy player, who scored in his only senior appearance for the Bees, was arrested in his home town of Chiswick on Monday (December 22), the day before his 19th birthday.

He was charged yesterday with handling stolen goods, driving without a licence and driving with no insurance. Police said he had been bailed to appear at Feltham Magistrates' Court on January 12.

A spokesman for the club said it was making no comment at this stage.

According to the club's website, the player has been with the Bees since he was seven and signed a three-year contract in August this year.

His sole competitive appearance for Brentford's first team came in the thrilling Capital One Cup win over Dagenham and Redbridge earlier that month, in which he scored once and created three other goals.

He top scored for the youth team last season, with nine goals in 16 games, and also made seven appearances for the under-21s during 2013/14.
