A SERIOUS case review is underway following the death of a mother and her children in Kenton.

Jeyavani Vageswaran’s sons Anopan, five, and eight-month-old Nathiban died from suffocation, and she died of compression to the neck caused by hanging at the family home in Woodgrange Close on January 9.

A spokesman for Brent Council said: “We can confirm that the family had been known to the council for a very short period of time prior to the tragic deaths.

“In line with procedures as set out in Working Together (2013), the matter is now subject to a Serious Case Review.

“On that basis it would not be appropriate to comment further.”

The young boys and their mother, 33, were found by husband and father Sakthivel. An inquest was opened and adjourned.

Detectives from the Metropolitan Police’s Homicide and Major Crime Command said they were not looking for anyone else in connection with the three deaths.
