A man was taken to hospital after being stabbed in Brentford last night.

Police and ambulance crews were at Windmill Road at about 9.30pm, according to witnesses.

Eye witnesses reported that a man had been stabbed in the 'upper thigh/buttock area'.

A London Ambulance Service spokesman said it had been called to the scene at 9.55pm and paramedics had treated a man reported to be in his 30s, who was conscious.

The spokesman said the patient was stabilised before being taken to hospital. He would not comment on the extent of the man's injuries.

Police have yet to respond to getwestlondon's enquiries.

The incident is the latest in a spate of stabbings around the borough, including the fatal stabbing of Jamil Palmer in Hanworth.

Mike Paterson, who lives in Windmill Road, said it was a shock to see something like this in 'civilised' Windmill Road, but insisted he still felt safe.

"I think some people get understandably freaked by incidents like this but it's important to remember that London's a very safe city," he said
