A TEENAGER has been stabbed in the leg outside a fast-food takeaway in Wealdstone.

The 16-year-old was attacked in the High Street near Sam's Chicken and Ribs at 9pm on Tuesday.

A spokesman for Harrow police said: "At this early stage, it appears there was an altercation between the victim and a small group of youths, during which he was injured.

"We retain an open mind regarding any motive."

Another 16-year-old was arrested on suspicion of causing grievance bodily harm close to the scene.

He was in custody at Harrow police station in Northolt Road, South Harrow, at the time the Observer went to press.

Following the stabbing, paramedics took the victim to a north London hospital where he did not need surgery but was kept in overnight for observation and treatment.

A third youngster, believed of a similar age, suffered a head injury when he ran from the incident and banged his head on door shutters.

It is thought he was also treated at hospital and then discharged.
