Tributes have been laid at the spot where an 11-year-old boy was struck by a car in Neasden and later died.

The young victim, who has not been named, was hit on the eastbound North Circular at its junction of Brentfield Road and Drury Way at 7.30pm on Saturday evening and was pronounced dead at hospital.

He was in collision with two cars, the first of which failed to stop and continued eastbound in the direction of Brent Cross. The second car did pull over and its driver has been spoken to by police.

Detective Sergeant Roger Crawley said: "It's a tragic case and we're appealing for anyone who has seen the [first] vehicle, or knows the vehicle, to get in touch with us."

There have been no arrests and a post-mortem examination on the boy's body is to take place today.
