CYCLISTS who want to use the Barclays cycle hire scheme could be thwarted by a 48-hour strike on Tuesday.

Members of The RMT Union, which represents Serco employees, are refusing to redistribute the bikes in a pay and conditions dispute.

Their action will begin at 9pm on Sunday and end at 9pm on Tuesday.

Cycle stations are likely to stay full, preventing any bicycles from being docked, or remain empty, halting the supply of bicycles.

Hammersmith and Fulham has five cycle stations, grouped around Westfield shopping centre.
