A BOOKMAKER is taking bets on who will win each constituency in Ealing in the next general election.

Ladbrokes is offering the odds to its punters, bringing political betting to the UK. But will you be swayed into placing a bet?

The bookies' odds are: **Ealing Central and Acton The Conservatives are tipped to win this new constituency, giving candidate Angie Bray odds of 5-1 on, meaning punters will have to hand over £5 just for the chance to win £1.

It is almost a foregone conclusion according to the bookies as a bet on the next best chance, Lib Dem Jon Balls, is at 6-1 - meaning you would receive get six times your stake if he wins.

And Ladbrokes reckon Labour candidate Bassam Mahfouz's chances are even worse with odds of 7-1, the same chance as Spurs have of winning the FA Cup this year.

But if you really fancy backing a wildcard then maybe the Libertarians are for you with the slim chance of making £200 for every £1 you put up with odds of 200-1.

**Ealing North Labour's fortunes are looking much more promising in Ealing North with Steve Pound a favourite to retain his seat. He has odds of 8-11. The Conservatives are reckoned to be an even money chance should you decide to back their candidate, Ian Gibb.

But Francesco Fruzza of the Liberal Democrats is not looking a good bet with odds of 66-1, the same chance as Serbia winning the football world cup this year. **Ealing Southall Virendra Sharma will be happy to know that the bookmakers believe he is here to stay with odds of 10-1.

Conservative Gurcharan Singh is rated to have the same chance of winning the seat as Mark Webber does of winning the Formula One world championship at 20-1.

While Nigel Bakhai of the Liberal Democrats is looking the least likely with odds of 33-1 - the same chance as last year's 100-1 shock Grand National winner Mon Mome is given of repeating his surprise success this year.
