A FATHER'S body has been found in the Grand Union Canal a month after he went missing.

The body of Patrick Duffy, 54, was recovered from the canal in Brentford yesterday (Sunday 17) by Hounslow Police.

Mr Duffy, of St John's Road, Isleworth, was last seen on Saturday February 9 shortly after midnight near the Six Bells Pub in Brentford as he walked towards his home.

The Celtic football fan's family became extremely worried when he did not turn up to work on the Monday, two days later and the Marine Policing Unit searched a section of Brentford Lock four days after he went missing but found nothing.

His body has been formally identified and his next of kin has been notified.

This is the third body to be recovered from the river or the canal in the Brentford area this year.
