I suspect the riots of two weeks ago will be a topic of conversation for weeks or months to come.
It’s still particularly shocking to remember that it happened so close to home. My first home and job at a school ‘down south’ was in Ealing borough and I became very fond of the place. When I taught drama I banged a cymbal for groups to stop working on improvisations - pupils were trained to be immediately silent and freeze on the spot.
Maybe I will look out that cymbal. Well, you never know!
