Harrow Council has repaired a third of the 714 potholes identified in the borough after setting aside £200,000 for the task.

The additional money was made available in February from the borough’s transformation and priority initiatives fund.

The council’s portfolio holder for environment and community safety, Councillor Phillip O’Dell, said: “We are committed to making sure our roads are well maintained and safe to drive on, which is why we have announced this extra fund.”

Six teams are working on repairing the rest of the potholes. Even before setting aside the £200,000, the council already spends £500,000 a year fixing potholes.
