MORE THAN 400 pupils at a Feltham primary school enjoyed a bird of prey display on Monday.

Alan Ames aka 'Birdman', from the Eagle Heights attraction in Kent, brought a selection of birds to The Oriel Primary School on Hounslow Road.

It was the first time pupils at the school have had a bird display.

Two assemblies were held in the school hall, and then all pupils had the chance to have their picture taken with a bird of their choice.

School administrator Joan Dean said: "Our literacy co-ordinator organised the visit to tie in with book week, our theme has been flight.

"Most of the children were absolutely amazed. Some of the little ones were a little bit scared because the eagle was bigger than them. The eagle flew across the school hall, the falcon couldn't because it flies too high and the owl didn't want to fly at all, but it was wonderful and the children really enjoyed it."
