A motorcyclist has been airlifted to hospital after a crash in Goldhawk Road near Shepherd's Bush Green.

An air ambulance landed on the Green and the man was treated at the scene for a head injury for some time before being flown away. His condition is described by police as life threatening.

Goldhawk Road is closed in both directions for a 100m stretch near Shepherd's Bush Green and Transport for London is urging drivers to avoid the area. Police said it would likely remain closed for several hours.

The crash happened at about 1pm near the junction of Pennard Road and involved a scooter and a black Audi. The scooter was travelling towards Shepherd's Bush Green while the Audi was pulling into Goldhawk Road from a side road.
