A NEW ticketing system in Feltham has been branded "vindictive" by a resident fined £50 for pulling over at the train station.
Alex Maclennan, of Princes Road, has accused the London Borough of Hounslow of Big Brother style spying after the ticket was posted through his door last week.
Mr Maclennan has been told his wife breached the rules when she dropped him at the train station for work on March 16, by briefly pulling into the empty bus stop.
He told The Chronicle: "Usually people just drive in there to drop people off and pick them up. My wife was sitting in the car the whole time, I just got out. We have been fined £50, or £100 if we don't pay quickly.
"It looks like there was a camera just a few yards away. My wife drops me off every day and picks me up every evening, that means she will probably get tickets for the 17th, 18th, 19th and so on."
The new camera was installed just over a fortnight ago. The resident said time of the ticket was 11.50am, and added that his spouse Sharon thought it would be acceptable to pull into the bay because it was empty.
He said: "I think it is ridiculous that they are paying someone to sit there and do that, it is just stealth money making."I feel spied on, I feel like someone is spying on us and taking the opportunity to be vindictive."
A Hounslow Council spokesman said: "Stopping in a bus stop is prohibited by the Highway Code. This is a busy bus stop, just after a bend before the level crossing that needs to be kept free of obstructions to make sure traffic can move. Using clearly signed cameras is our last resort and is only used when other types of enforcement have been unsuccessful."
