Just because you are a school kid does not mean you are not a citizen.

Pupils at Stockley Academy in Yiewsley proved as much by raising £250 to help build a school in Ghana, as part of their ‘citizenship’ studies.

The academy, in Park View Road, was holding its Charity Week, and the youngsters chose the charity Free The Children as its good cause this year. It campaigns against child labour.

During the week, pupils delivered assemblies, presentations, organised cake sales (pictured) and even got the teachers involved in rounders tournaments.

Yasmin Chentouf, Year 10 Citizenship pupil, said: “Thanks to everyone who pitched in to make this possible.”
