POLICE are seeking information after a Brentford FC supporter was the victim an unprovoked attack following a match in Hartlepool.
The 40-year-old fan was in Clarence Road, Hartlepool, walking to the Hartlepool rail station with a small group of friends just before 7:30pm on Saturday April 20 after the Brentford game when someone came up behind him and knocked him to the ground.
The man suffered a cut to his head which required stitching, damage to a tooth and swelling around his jaw. He was released after treatment at the University Hospital of North Tees.
A 29-year-old man from Hartlepool was arrested on suspicion of assault nearby shortly after the incident.
