THE FUTURE of an annual Feltham event is being considered by its managers.

John Laing Integrated Services are reconsidering the "format" of the Country Fair at Bedfont County Park for 2010.

A spokesman for the organisation said: "John Laing has added an additional event to the Bedfont Lakes event calendar. Nature Day, a whole day of nature-themed events to celebrate the international year of biodiversity will be held on Sunday 27th of June.

"We will still be holding an annual event this year. Following a review of last year's country fair and the inclusion of Nature Day into the event programme, we are currently in the process of determining the format of the event and a suitable date."

But councillor John Howliston is concerned that the 15 year tradition may end.

Last year visitors were charged admission fees for the first time, and charities were also charged £25 to have stalls.

He said: "It is a very enjoyable event with a number of displays with animals, various stalls at the like. I think if it was stopped it would be a great loss.

"So many local societies take part, it is very much a community event."

John Laing Integrated Services declined to comment any further.
