Superheroes Jack Ruane and Dave Wilcox are in training for the race of their life - running the London Marathon as Batman and Robin.

The Acton 22-year-olds were inspired to take on the challenge as a fundraiser for Ealing Mencap and have set an ambitious target of £3,200.

They are following a healthy diet and a strict exercise regime, and are hoping the generosity of the Ealing Gazette's readers will help boost their current £600 total before the marathon kicks off on April 26.

Caped crusader Jack, of Gloucester Road, said: "It's a cause which is close to my heart because my brother is autistic, and Ealing Mencap is a charity for people with learning difficulties. We thought it would be funny to do it dressed as Batman and Robin."
