A HOUNSLOW business hopes to sow a little love by funding good causes with a horticultural theme.

Urban Planters London West, in Bath Road, Hounslow, has put up a £1,500 pot (made up of three £500 grants) for projects with an environmental theme.

It wants to hear from groups across the borough, from charities to schools and old people's homes, with ideas for how to spend the money.

Previous projects funded by the firm, which provides plants for offices across west London, include planting trees in Beaversfield Park, Hounslow West, and brightening up the Hub community centre, in Salisbury Road, Hounslow West.

Urban Planters has also helped spruce up gardens at old people's homes and schools, as well as giving ex-offenders horticultural training.

Branch director Liz Cabble said: "We're looking to fund anything with a horticultural theme which will really make a difference to the lives of local residents, and we want to hear all your ideas."

To apply for funding, please write to Urban Planters with a 150-word outline of the planned project and how the £500 would be used, together with full contact details, at: Urban Planters London West, Unit 22, National Works, Bath Road, Hounslow, Middlesex TW4 7EA or email londonwest@urbanplanters.co.uk

The deadline for applications is Friday, December 16.
