STUDENTS are celebrating winning an art award in competition with other schools in Hillingdon.

Barnhill Community School received the Fourth Plinth Secondary Schools award after submitting their sculpture entitled Bright Faces.

The challenge was to design a piece of art work that celebrates multi-cultural London and to design a sculpture that could be displayed on the fourth plinth in Trafalgar Square.

The students were invited to City Hall in London to collect their prize, where Boris Johnson, the Mayor of London, was so impressed by their art work he gave them a Boris Star Award.
