A balloon released at Hanwell Carnival two weeks ago has made its way to north west France.

During the mammoth jubilee celebration of Hanwell Carnival on Saturday, June 19, 200 balloons were released to mark the occasion.

And one has been discovered by Jouan Didier of Noyal-sur-Brutz, which is 500 miles away.

The race was sponsored by estate agent RSK.

Community matters co-ordinator Linda King said: "This is simply wonderful. We had no idea the balloons would travel so far from Hanwell.

"We are still waiting for news of all the other balloons but this is the furthest one has travelled to date and we are all delighted."
